Neudorf Vineyards Country Ocassion was another great success. Vine wrapped Xmas Trees proved very popular on the day along with wreaths and French Oak Bowls and Platters.

There was alot of interest in my French Oak Rolling Pins too. The day was a huge success, something to look forward to again in 2013.

Red Art and Design – The Nelson Arts Guide Exhibition

An exhibition showcasing work by the artists featured in the Nelson Arts guide, in two parts, opens at Red Art Gallery this Friday.

The exhibition runs until the end of October, to coincide with the Rugby World Cup and the Masters Games.

Red Art Gallery co-owner Caroline Marshall says it’s going to be fantastic to see work by all of Nelson’s “really fabulous artists” all together.

Opens friday 5pm, 9 September to 28 October. RED Gallery + Cafe. One Bridge Street, Nelson.

See us at Country Occasion this November. Hosted by our neighbours, Neudorf Vineyards, in their gorgeous grounds. It’s the highlight of spring in the Moutere.

We’ll move our wood store to the grounds of Neudorf, and be on hand to talk about our work with French Oak. So come and say hello.

Grapevine pruning inspires World Cup sculpture

STUFF.CO.NZ:
Upper Moutere artist Michael MacMillan undertook an ambitious sculpture project called Collaboration, using hundreds of wine bottles wrapped around vines and a wine barrel, representing “the cycle of the wine”.

The sculptures will be on display at Richmond Plains until the end of October when the Rugby World Cup finishes.

Michael MacMillan’s sculptures speak of heritage and history moulded from stone.

It might not be his own heritage, but he still feels a connection with the land he now works from. The Upper Moutere resident is exhibiting at Reflections Gallery at the World of Wearable Arts museum and is part of the gallery’s Autumn Exhibition.

An Upper Moutere couple tell Tracy Neal how they found the perfect outlet for their love of art and hospitality.

Home is where the art is, at least where sculptor Michael MacMillan and his partner, Jackie Crow, are concerned.

The pair are the latest in a line of owners of a historic cottage in Upper Moutere that dates back to 1870.
